I was just told we will not have a crane tomorrow so the range will be open as usual. It is looking like the crane will be available on Thursday to set trusses So the Range will be closed on Thursday October 1st to set trusses
If all goes according to plan the range will be closed tomorrow Tuesday September 29th while we use a crane to set the trusses on our building. Right now we’re waiting on a call to let us know the crane is available. I will update when we know for sure
We are putting together plans for a fun day at the range October 17th. The theme is Zombie Fest. Most targets will be zombies. Range officers will be on hand to help participants at each shooting station. We will have something for everyone from pellet rifles to vintage military rifle. A little Practical shooting, Bullseye, shooting, Steel shooting, and lunch will be available as well. We have handguns, rifles, knives, and shotguns to raffle as well as a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will go to the WLGC Building Fund. You may use your own gun if you wish, but all ammo used will be sold at the range. We are still putting the details together, so check back for details more will be posted as they become available

With the building construction well underway, we are in need of additional funds to cover unexpected costs. In addition, we will need to raise additional funds to complete the entire project in the future. With fund raising efforts just getting started, there are ways that everyone can pitch in:
Have too many guns? Donate a gun that can be raffled off to raise money for the club.
The West Liberty Gun Club has been recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. What that means for the club is that donations to the club can be recognized by the donor as a charitable donation for tax purposes. Payments for dues or match fees are not considered donations. However, donations of cash or equipment can now be considered a charitable donation.

Bruce Guither, President
Fund raising efforts has brought in $12,666 in cash donations so far
Arnie Hart has challenged every board member and Range Officer to make a $200 donation to the building fund
There was also a discussion on how to raffle donated firearms and the need to have the winners transfer the firearms through a person with a valid FFL
The board is looking at several options to raise funds as we move ahead with this project.
Anyone who may be thinking about making a tax deductible donation toward our reconstruction may do so by attending the board meeting, contacting any board member, or mailing a check to;
